Dauntless Street Team

Hello from Dauntless! I've joined the Street Team to support the faction I would choose if I lived in the world of Divergent. Now I get to spread the word as best I can, complete Dauntless-themed challenges and talk you into joining as well. :)

This week I am going to tell you what movies I would watch at a Dauntless movie night and what books I would recommend to anyone who wants to face their fears and needs a little encouragement.

Movies:

Alien and Aliens: Because they star a strong female lead whose life is ordinary until, very suddenly, it isn't. She is in a state of constant terror, but she never gives up.

Batman Begins: Because the hero faces and overcomes his fears to such an extent that he uses them against his enemies to give aid to the helpless. Very Dauntless.

Mission: Impossible and its sequels: Because they are just full of Dauntless-esque behavior. Jumping all over trains, off of buildings, onto buildings...

The Matrix: Because you honestly don't get much more Dauntless than Neo, except that Dauntless can pull off stunts like those in real life.

Books:

Delirium and Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver: Because while they may not have as many stunts as Divergent, the characters are even more fearful and just as brave.

Enclave by Ann Aguirre: Because the heroine (Deuce) leaves the semi-safety of home to face a dangerous world full of zombies with a mysterious, not particularly talkative boy named Fade (doesn't he sound like someone you know?).

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien: This may seem like an odd choice at first glance, but the hobbits do not hesitate to leave everything they know behind and venture to the most dangerous edges of the map to save the world. Seems pretty Dauntless to me.

So have fun with your books and movies and make sure to join Dauntless here. Read the latest faction news here and pre-order Insurgent, the much anticipated sequel to Divergent (doesn't it look awesome???), here.
