I am not accepting review requests at this time, unless you are an author whose novels I have reviewed before. I'm sorry, but I have a huge TBR pile at the moment and I'm trying not to add to it.
Okay, I figure that since authors are now sending me their books out of the blue (not to mention the ones I ask for) it is about time I came up with a review policy. I like to keep things simple, so here it is.
If you have a book that you would like me to review:
I promise that my review will be honest, whether it is good or bad.
I am not required to finish the book if I cannot stand it, though I promise to do my best.
I do not review non-fiction, unless it is a history or biography about a time or person that particulary interests me.
I hate tragedies, so if your book does not have a happy ending, or at least a hopeful one, I am not the reviewer you want.
I prefer physical books, but e-books are fine.
I love doing interviews, participating in blog tours, and hosting giveaways.
Favorite Genres (Though not necessarily favorite in the order listed):
Steampunk
Austenesque
Historical Fiction
Fantasy
Romance
Science Fiction
Mysteries
Some Paranormal, it depends on the book
Mythology
Fairy-Tales
I also love anything involving King Arthur or Robin Hood (they are my exceptions to the no-tragedy rule). I am a complete Jane Austen addict; I love the re-tellings and sequels as well as her original works. I love books involving dragons, pirates, girls pretending to be boys, people who don't know that they are actually related by blood to other people, characters who are framed for crimes they didn't commit, characters that other characters believe to be dead but aren't, the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, Dragons, historical espionage, modern espionage, fantasy espionage, basically everything that has the main characters sneaking around, shape-shifting, Dragons, Sherlock Holmes, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, the American Revolution, World War I, Ancient Persia, knights in shining armor, Dragons, faeries, the Crusades, the Victorian Era, the Regency Era, the British Navy, duelling, swordfights in general, archery, Shakespeare, Gaelic folklore and mythology, Dragons, the Jacobite Revolution, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, damsels in distress, distressing damsels... have I mentioned that I like Dragons yet?
Well, maybe I got a little carried away there, but you get the gist of it, well, maybe half of the gist. I like a lot more than what I mentioned above, but that should give any prospective author an idea of whether they want me reviewing their book.
